About Christian Science Lectures

Christian Science lectures are free community talks that are open to everyone, regardless of faith background. They offer a welcoming introduction to Christian Science and explore how prayer, spiritual understanding, and the teachings of the Bible can bring comfort, healing, and practical help in daily life.

These talks are not church services or sermons, and there is no pressure to join the church. Each lecture is generally about one hour and is presented by a Christian Science practitioner and member of the Christian Science Board of Lectureship. Speakers draw on the Bible, the healing ministry of Christ Jesus, and the writings of Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science.

Whether you are familiar with Christian Science, exploring spiritual questions, or simply looking for healing encouragement, you are invited to attend.

DeLand Christian Science Church
111 E. New York Ave

Speaker: Nikki O’Hagan, Christian Science practitioner

Misconceptions about ourselves and the world we live in are often corrected by advances in science which bring paradigm shifts to our ways of thinking and understanding existence.

The current matter-based scientific model leaves many questions unanswered and has some thinkers and scientists questioning if it is still the right model. It’s interesting to consider if the time has come for another major paradigm shift in science – a shift to include God as the center and circumference of all existence.

Nikki will address these questions and show how the Science of God explains Jesus’ healings, and teachings, makes God knowable and understandable, and provides us with a safe, reliable means for caring for ourselves and each other.
